Description For Power Distribution Network Engineer, Staff

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., the world's leading wireless chipset manufacturer and largest fabless semiconductor company, is seeking a Staff Power Distribution Network Engineer to join their central hardware system (CHS) team. This role is based in San Diego, California, offering a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $210,000 along with comprehensive benefits.

The position involves developing cutting-edge package technology and system-level power and signal integrity solutions used by millions of customers. As a Staff Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing PDN solutions, conducting power integrity analysis for high-speed processor cores, and working with various teams to implement and verify power delivery solutions.

The ideal candidate should possess an MSc in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant industry experience. Strong expertise in package and PCB extraction, analysis flow, and SOC floor planning is essential. Familiarity with industry tools like SIWave, HSPICE, and Matlab is required.

Responsibilities For Power Distribution Network Engineer, Staff

  • Apply electrical design expertise to develop Power Distribution Network(PDN) solutions, perform simulation, analysis, and debug
  • Conduct power integrity analysis for high speed application processor cores and other cores including GPU/Modem
  • Extract PCB and PKG PDN parameters using standard industry tools
  • Perform Lab measurements of PDN in frequency and time domains
  • Define bump and ball patterns and decoupling capacitance scheme
  • Work with system designers, design verification and physical design teams
