Job Description

Qualcomm's Voice and Music Business Unit is seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer to join their team in either Cambridge or Bristol office. This role is part of a leading player in wireless earbud, headset, and smart speaker market, developing cutting-edge hardware and software solutions. The position offers an opportunity to work on end-to-end solutions for leading-edge low-power mixed-signal SOCs, from feasibility studies through to system architecture.

The role requires working alongside System and IC architects, Verification, Validation, and Software teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for RTL design, power optimization, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. This position demands expertise in digital IP design with a focus on low power solutions.

Responsibilities For Senior Digital Design Engineer - Qualcomm - Cambridge or Bristol office

  • Design and Integration of RTL blocks including DSP, SoC and peripheral IP
  • Support power analysis and design updates to reduce power
  • Documentation including micro architecture and programming guides
  • Ownership of complete work package from specification through to delivery
  • Cross functional collaboration with Firmware, Systems and Verification teams
  • Running ASIC development tools including Lint, CDC, Synthesis, Power analysis tools
  • Planning, reporting status and communicating progress against expectations

Requirements For Senior Digital Design Engineer - Qualcomm - Cambridge or Bristol office

Python
  • Bachelor's or Masters' degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • RTL design in System Verilog and expert digital design knowledge
  • Knowledge of DSP design for Audio signal processing
  • Knowledge of power reduction techniques (DVFS, power gating, DMA)
  • Familiarity with AMBA/AXI specifications, I2C, I2S, SPI or similar
  • SoC level design and IP Integration Experience
  • Expert in debugging design issues reported in simulation or formal verification
  • System C design and High-Level Synthesis flows
  • Knowledge and experience of defining HW/FW interfaces
  • Ability to automate and improve process through scripting in Python, Perl or similar
  • Effective communicator with strong technical presentation skills
