Description For Windows Driver Engineer - USB/DP

The ideal software engineer will be part of the Display SW Team and play a pivotal role in the development and testing of display features on Windows-on-Snapdragon product lines. Strong software development skills will allow you to gather requirements, design, and develop device power management, power, and perf management. Communication and collaboration skills are essential and as part of Windows power software team you will be interacting and coordinating with internal and external teams. Looking for a self-starter with excellent people skills and software design and development aptitude to match.

Responsibilities will include the design and development of new features, support for new hardware pre/post-silicon development, debugging of issues within software, optimizing software for performance and power, development of unit tests and working with our partners and OEMs.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Embedded Windows software and good driver programming skills.
  • Solid understanding of Operating System concepts.
  • Windows and/or Linux kernel and driver development experience.
  • Understanding and experience in display driver software development.
  • Strong understanding of C/C++ and hands-on experience on debugging ARM or other SoC embedded systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to co-ordinate across stakeholders and drive towards task completion

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Detailed oriented with strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of C/C++ programming
  • Experienced in kernel architecture and driver development, such as signals, priorities, deadlocks, stacks, interrupt, memory management, scheduler, synchronization methods, etc.
  • Understanding of low level software/hardware interface design and debugging.
  • Windows OS internals and Windows Driver knowledge with frameworks such as WDDM/KMDF.
  • Windows Device driver programming and debugging with WinDbg, JTAG/other tools.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines is preferred: Display (DisplayPort/eDP, HDMI, MIPI DSI, Pixel processing/composition, MIPI DSI, etc.).
  • Added advantage with knowledge in DisplayPort, DP-Alt mode, Thunderbolt, USB4, USB3
  • Previous experience is debugging USB Interoperability issues is strongly recommended.
