Description For AWS Cloud Ops Engineer I-IN (R-20537)

Rackspace Technology is seeking an L1 AWS Support Engineer to join their team in a rotational shift role including night shifts. As an L1 AWS Support Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of providing first-level technical support for AWS-based solutions, handling everything from EC2 instances to S3 buckets and various AWS services.

The role combines technical expertise with customer service, requiring you to troubleshoot and resolve AWS-related issues while maintaining clear communication with customers. You'll be responsible for monitoring AWS environments, responding to alerts, and contributing to knowledge base documentation. The position involves incident management, security compliance, and identifying cost optimization opportunities.

  • Receive and log incident tickets
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic AWS-related issues
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams
  • Monitor AWS environments for performance and availability issues
  • Respond to alerts and take corrective actions
  • Contribute to and maintain knowledge base articles
  • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions
  • Communicate effectively with customers
  • Deploy and configure AWS resources
  • Perform regular backups and restore operations
  • Identify opportunities to optimize AWS resource usage and reduce costs

Requirements For AWS Cloud Ops Engineer I-IN (R-20537)

Linux
  • Strong understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic troubleshooting techniques
  • Familiarity with command-line interfaces and scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Customer-focused approach
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (Preferred)
