Rackspace Technology, a leading multicloud solutions provider, is seeking a Senior Splunk Engineer to join their team in India. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work with enterprise-level Splunk implementations and security solutions.
The role requires a seasoned professional with 8+ years of IT experience and 5+ years of hands-on Splunk engineering expertise. As a Splunk Engineer, you'll be responsible for architecting, implementing, and administering Splunk solutions in highly available, distributed computing environments. You'll lead the design and deployment of new Splunk environments, including complex multi-site configurations.
Key responsibilities include developing advanced SIEM correlation content, managing enterprise security implementations, and optimizing platform performance. You'll work with diverse technologies, from storage systems to networking infrastructure, while maintaining compliance with frameworks like PCI DSS and HIPAA.
The ideal candidate will possess expert-level knowledge of Splunk Enterprise and Enterprise Security, strong programming skills in languages like Python, and proficiency in Linux/Unix administration. You'll serve as a technical escalation point and mentor junior engineers, requiring excellent communication skills and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities For Splunk Engineer
- Architect, engineer, implement, and administer Splunk solutions in highly available environments
- Lead design and deployment of new Splunk environments
- Perform Splunk forwarder deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Integrate and normalize diverse log sources into Splunk
- Configure and maintain Splunk dashboards, searches, and alerts
- Develop advanced content for SIEM correlation
- Administer and tune Splunk components
- Lead capacity planning and storage forecasting
- Optimize Splunk performance
- Develop custom scripts and automation tools
- Serve as technical escalation point
- Manage Splunk RBAC and security configurations
- Mentor junior Splunk engineers
Requirements For Splunk Engineer
- 8+ years of IT experience in technical engineering
- 5+ years of direct Splunk engineering experience
- Expert-level knowledge of Splunk Enterprise and Enterprise Security
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration
- Strong programming skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar
- Experience with storage systems
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Splunk Certified Architect certification preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor team members
