Description For Site Reliability Engineer - III (UK Shift)

Rackspace Technology is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their Professional Services Center of Excellence focusing on Application Performance Monitoring Suites. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with modern observability tools like Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace while solving complex business problems for customers. As part of the Public Cloud - Offerings and Delivery team, you'll be instrumental in helping customers understand the connections between application performance, user experience, and business outcomes.

The position involves implementing observability solutions, building scalable systems, and maintaining robust automation to support engineering goals. You'll work with cutting-edge monitoring tools and be responsible for analyzing both metric and log data to ensure optimal system performance. The role requires a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps practices, and extensive experience with AWS infrastructure.

Responsibilities For Site Reliability Engineer - III (UK Shift)

  • Work with customers and implement Observability solutions
  • Build and maintain scalable systems and robust automation
  • Develop and maintain monitoring tools, alerts, and dashboards
  • Analyze metric and log data for anomaly detection and performance tuning
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement and deploy new features
  • Document and share solutions
  • Maintain understanding of customer's business and technical environment
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and resolve root cause of service issues

Requirements For Site Reliability Engineer - III (UK Shift)

Python
Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science or equivalent
  • Senior-level experience with Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and AWS Infrastructure
  • Experience with observability solutions (Splunk, Datadog, SignalFx)
  • Experience deploying and supporting applications in AWS ecosystem
  • Proficiency in interpreted languages (Python, PHP, Perl, Ruby, Linux Shell)
  • Experience with Terraform or Cloud Formation scripting
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Experience with Git and agile software development
  • Understanding of AWS pricing/cost models
  • Understanding of network & system Management solutions
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking & analytical skills
