Redwood Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer for their Energy Storage division, playing a crucial role in designing and implementing testing solutions for their innovative battery recycling and materials production operations.

The role combines hardware and software engineering expertise to develop comprehensive testing systems for manufacturing and field applications. As an early member of a new engineering team, you'll be instrumental in shaping the testing infrastructure for new products, working across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

The position requires a strong background in manufacturing test engineering, with particular emphasis on high-voltage systems and battery technology. Responsibilities For Manufacturing Test Engineer, Energy Storage

  • Develop and implement manufacturing & field testers for a new electromechanical product
  • Collaborate with firmware and hardware teams to develop test coverage, define metrics
  • Debug and root cause issues found in manufacturing test
  • Design and develop manufacturing test hardware including functional and system power tests
  • Lead tester builds and validation efforts such as GRR and SAT
  • Work with firmware & software teams to develop test automation, self-test, and data analysis

Requirements For Manufacturing Test Engineer, Energy Storage

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
  • 5+ years of technical experience in manufacturing test engineering
  • Experience working with high-voltage systems (400–2000VDC and 480-800VAC)
  • Deep technical expertise in test engineering
  • Experience working in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Direct experience with battery testers or characterization tools
  • Experience developing scalable tools and infrastructure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
