Description For Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer

Reliable Robotics is at the forefront of revolutionizing aviation safety through automated systems development. As a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in developing safety-critical systems for automated flight. The position involves working with cutting-edge technology to enable the integration of uncrewed aircraft into the National Airspace System.

The role combines aerospace engineering with software development, requiring expertise in control systems, flight dynamics, and programming. You'll be working on novel control systems that directly contribute to the company's mission of making air transportation safer and more efficient. The position offers hands-on experience with simulation, hardware-in-loop testing, and actual flight testing.

Based in Mountain View, California, you'll join a team of mission-driven engineers with diverse experience across aerospace, robotics, and self-driving cars. The company offers competitive compensation ($128,000-$160,000), stock options, and benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about aviation safety and automation, with the technical skills to implement complex control systems.

The role requires U.S. export control compliance and involves some travel (10%). You'll be working in a collaborative environment, interfacing with pilots, operations personnel, software developers, and certifying authorities. The position offers a unique blend of theoretical engineering work and practical implementation in a field that's pushing the boundaries of aviation technology.
