Responsibilities For Staff Engineer, Algorithms Insights (Remote, US)
- Develop and productionize algorithms and models using machine learning and statistical techniques
- Create methodologies for evaluating energy management features and deriving insights
- Analyze diverse datasets to inform product direction and algorithm design
- Lead small engineering groups to achieve business and technical objectives
- Design, implement, and maintain systems and features
- Work across the stack including Python, PostgreSQL, AWS/GCP, and other technologies
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives with Product, Design/UX, Operations, and Engineering
Requirements For Staff Engineer, Algorithms Insights (Remote, US)
- 6+ years experience developing and evaluating algorithms and models in production environments
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency in Python for algorithm-focused software development
- Strong SQL skills and experience with databases
- Experience leading the design of complex, scalable software systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Solid foundation in statistics, including inference, simulation, and optimization
- Hands-on experience developing machine learning or statistical models
