Senior Staff Software Developer

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Staff Software Developer to join their Software Platform (SP) team in Toronto. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the future of financial technology at a company managing the largest wealth transfer in human history. As the senior-most individual contributor for the SP organization in Toronto, you'll work across five core teams: Networking, Observability, Compute, Provisioning, and Storage.

The position involves leading technical strategy and architecture for foundational systems that power Robinhood's products. You'll be responsible for increasing developer velocity and ensuring system reliability at scale. The role requires expertise in cloud-native technologies and infrastructure engineering, with a focus on building robust, scalable, and secure systems.

This is an in-office position offering a competitive compensation package of $213,000 - $250,000 CAD base salary, plus bonus opportunities and equity. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of software engineering experience, with demonstrated success in technical leadership and system design at scale. You'll be instrumental in implementing service mesh and modernizing infrastructure while mentoring teams and driving best practices.
