Job Description

Rockstar Games, a leader in world-class entertainment experiences, is seeking an Anti-Cheat Engineer to join their Leeds studio. This role is part of the Rockstar Live Services Integrity team, responsible for protecting players, employees, and intellectual property across all Rockstar titles. The position requires a skilled engineer who will focus on ensuring games and services remain secure by protecting against cheaters, vulnerabilities, and exploits.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in reverse engineering, malware analysis, and C/C++ programming, with at least 3 years of professional experience. They will work on implementing and maintaining anti-cheat systems, conducting security assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance game security.

Responsibilities For Anti-Cheat Engineer

  • Engage in day-to-day operations of the anti-cheat and anti-fraud programme
  • Utilize reverse engineering capabilities to analyse and report on malicious code
  • Fine-tune and support anti-cheat measures and in-game abuse prevention systems
  • Conduct in-depth assessments on emergent game security risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve security controls and detection
  • Support the active development of internal tooling and anti-cheat solutions

Requirements For Anti-Cheat Engineer

Python
  • 3+ years professional experience in reverse engineering software/malware analysis
  • C/C++ experience with understanding of multi-threaded programming techniques
  • Proven experience analysing cheats, game exploits, and other similar abuse vectors
  • Prior experience in software development using Agile frameworks
  • Strong analytical mind with problem-solving skills
  • Experience with scripting and process automation
  • Experience with static and dynamic memory analysis
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
