Senior Software Engineer II - Smart Trailer & Connected Equipment

Samsara, a pioneer in Connected Operations™ Cloud technology, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II for their Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment business unit - one of their fastest-growing product lines. This role focuses on developing solutions that help customers manage trailers and unpowered equipment through IoT technology.

As a full stack engineer, you'll work on critical features like equipment utilization tracking, sensor-based load and temperature monitoring, and comprehensive asset tracking solutions. The position offers the opportunity to impact industries that power the global economy, working with over 2.3 million IoT devices deployed worldwide.

The role combines technical expertise with customer-focused development, requiring both independent work and strong collaboration skills. You'll be instrumental in delivering scalable solutions while maintaining close contact with end users through customer interviews and metrics-driven development.

Key responsibilities include iterative development with customer focus, technical advocacy, mentoring other engineers, and championing Samsara's cultural principles. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of software development experience, strong programming fundamentals in Go/GraphQL/TypeScript/React, and experience with ML model deployment and geolocation data.
