Senior Software Engineer II - Smart Trailer & Connected Equipment

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join their Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment business unit, one of their fastest-growing product lines. This role focuses on delivering end-to-end solutions for trailer and unpowered equipment management, including tracking utilization, sensor monitoring for loads and temperature, and comprehensive asset tracking solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work with IoT technology at scale, with over 2.3 million devices deployed globally.

The role combines technical expertise with customer-focused development, requiring both independent work and strong collaboration skills. You'll be working on solutions that directly impact physical operations across industries like agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing. The position involves building scalable innovations while maintaining close contact with end users through customer interviews and metrics-driven development.

As a Senior Engineer, you'll be expected to act as a force multiplier on the team, mentoring other engineers and contributing to technical discussions and implementation decisions. The role requires a strong foundation in software development, with expertise in technologies like Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, or React, and the ability to balance rapid iteration with long-term technical health.

The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $150,237.50 to $252,500 USD base salary, plus equity in the form of RSUs.
