Job Description
Scaleway, a leading European cloud infrastructure provider since 1999, is seeking a Software Engineer for their Elastic Metal team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining microservices in Go to scale and automate bare metal operations across 6 Availability Zones, supporting over 15,000 servers.
The position sits within a team of 8 DevOps engineers working on three key microservices: client API, infrastructure management API, and server workflow control API. The team operates in an Agile environment with 2-week sprints, emphasizing collaboration through pair programming and regular team rituals.
As part of Scaleway's €3 billion investment backed by the Iliad Group, you'll contribute to building a sovereign AI alternative to American and Asian giants. The company serves 38,000+ clients, including notable names like Photoroom, Mistral AI, and Golem AI.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer Baremetal
- Develop new features in Go for the Elastic Metal stack
- Perform code reviews and ensure best practices
- Analyze existing code and propose improvements
- Investigate and resolve bugs
- Contribute to automation of infrastructure operations
- Collaborate with hardware, network, and console teams to ensure seamless integration
Requirements For Software Engineer Baremetal
- Strong proficiency in Golang (mandatory)
- Solid experience with Git, SQL, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of bare metal infrastructure and image building
- Experience with RabbitMQ, NATS, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, Packer, BMC
- Strong team spirit
- Autonomous, comfortable working in a mostly full-remote environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Methodical and rigorous approach to problem-solving
