Job Description
Sema is building an agentic platform to accelerate software delivery, collaborating with tools like Windsurf/Devin. The Sema Intelligence Platform has analyzed 1600+ companies worth over $1.6 Trillion, providing foundational data for AI agents that understand software delivery workflows. This role expands proven product intelligence to autonomous action, defining how software companies operate within 5 years. The company is profitable and backed by investors, including Village Global and the ex-CTO of Blackstone.
As a Senior AI Agent Engineer, you will work closely with the CEO to build AI agent orchestration and communication, transform workflows into autonomous decision-making, and handle enterprise-scale automation. You will also define the category of software product agents, architect platform infrastructure, and own core autonomous agent development. The tech stack includes Python and LLM orchestration tools like Langchain and LlamaIndex.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate multiple specialized agents
- Transform JIRA workflows, Git patterns, and business context into autonomous decision-making
- Handle 100+ concurrent projects with intelligent resource allocation and stakeholder communication
- Shape how "Software Product Agents" work industry-wide
- Build the foundation that scales to enterprise customers with $1000 development budgets
- Lead autonomous agent development from concept to production deployment
- Collaborate with Matt on technical vision, customer feedback integration, and strategic platform evolution
Requirements
- Senior Python expertise with production-scale backend systems
- AI engineering experience - LLM orchestration, agent frameworks, or autonomous systems
- Product-focused mindset
- Ownership mentality
- Enterprise integration expertise (JIRA APIs, Git platforms, workflow automation)
- Startup experience at category-creating companies (especially developer tools or AI infrastructure)
- Frontend experience
