They are currently developing a next-generation aircraft equipped with Hivemind autonomy, pushing the boundaries of innovation and performance. The company is seeking a Lead Software Test Engineer to join their Software Integration & Operations team in Dallas.
The role involves leading the testing strategy and infrastructure development for next-generation aircraft systems, covering components from autonomy to embedded systems and ground control applications. The position requires architecting scalable, automated test infrastructure and validating mission-critical behaviors across simulation and real aircraft environments.

The role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring expertise in Python/C++, continuous integration, and real-time systems testing. The position offers competitive compensation ($175,000-$260,000) plus bonus, benefits, and equity.

Responsibilities For Lead Software Test Engineer, Next-Gen Aircraft
- Architect & lead development of system integrating simulation, HIL solutions, and CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing
- Implement software interfaces and drivers to orchestrate simulation environments, hardware devices, and test equipment
- Define and automate test cases to verify and validate software components as an integrated system
- Define and execute release test plans for flight test events and major milestones
- Build and maintain tools for requirements-traceability between code and automated tests
- Work cross-functionally to derive requirements for aircraft system, test infrastructure, and quality gates
Requirements For Lead Software Test Engineer, Next-Gen Aircraft
- 7+ years of related experience with BS degree or 5+ years with MS/PhD in CE, CS, EE, or equivalent
- Excellent proficiency in Python or C++
- Experience in building continuous integration testing solutions
- Excellent understanding of software testing and quality assurance
- Experience testing real-time systems, avionics, or vehicle software
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
