Description For Senior Network Engineer

Sigma Defense is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support their Disaster Resilience Program (DRP) at Grand Forks Air Force Base. This role combines advanced network engineering with critical defense infrastructure support, requiring expertise in secure facilities and ICD705 requirements.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $130,000 annually and comes with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company matching, and generous PTO. The role requires a Top-Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance, making it ideal for professionals with existing defense sector experience.

As a Senior Network Engineer, you'll be responsible for installing and managing NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS equipment, networks, accounts, and encryption devices in new and renovated facilities. The role requires extensive experience with Cisco systems, Palo Alto firewalls, and TACLANE encryptors, combining traditional network engineering with specialized defense sector technologies.

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of network engineering experience, with 2-4 years specifically in DoD network engineering. You'll need active Cisco CCNA certification and CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certifications. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or a related technical field is required.

Responsibilities For Senior Network Engineer

  • Configure Cisco C3850 and C9300 series switches including Layer-2 and Layer-3 configurations
  • Maintain port security on all network devices
  • Configure and maintain Palo Alto (PA-850) firewalls
  • Act as liaison with DIA personnel on VoIP, dVTC and sVTC devices activation
  • Configure and maintain Cisco network devices, Palo Alto firewall appliances and TACLANE encryptors
  • Deploy and maintain Cisco VoIP telephones, dVTC and sVTC devices
  • Support NIWC Pacific Code 875 with networking engineering

Requirements For Senior Network Engineer

  • 8-10 years of experience in Network Engineering, with 2-4 years in DoD Networking Engineering
  • Active Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent
  • Active CompTIA Security+ or CCNA Security (or higher certification such as CISSP)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, or similar Engineering discipline
  • Must possess a Top-Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • Understanding of network security best practices
  • Experience with Cisco configuration OSPF, static routing, mGRE Tunnel, QOS, DHCP, ACLs, IPSec
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office Suite
