Job Description
SiteGround is seeking their first Senior Android Engineer to lead the development of native Android applications for their SaaS platforms, including E-commerce and AI Tools. This is a unique opportunity to shape the mobile experience for thousands of customers from the ground up.
The role involves full ownership of the Android development lifecycle, from architecture to release. You'll be responsible for establishing the Android development workflow, setting coding standards, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and managing app releases on Google Play. Using Kotlin and modern Android libraries like Jetpack Compose, you'll build robust, scalable applications while integrating with RESTful APIs and backend systems.
As the lead Android engineer, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including backend, frontend, product, and design to deliver exceptional user experiences. The position requires strong technical expertise with 5+ years of Android development experience and deep knowledge of modern Android frameworks and best practices.

Responsibilities For Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin)
- Build and maintain native Android apps with Kotlin and modern Android libraries
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
- Integrate with RESTful APIs and backend systems
- Define coding guidelines, architecture patterns, and scalable project structures
- Collaborate with backend, frontend, product, and design teams
- Optimize performance, stability, and security across devices and OS versions
- Manage Google Play publishing process
Requirements For Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin)
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience
- Strong proficiency with Kotlin and modern Android frameworks
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and AndroidX components
- Solid understanding of Gradle build configuration, app signing, and Play Store processes
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and managing offline storage
- Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD tools
- Comfortable working with GIT in a team environment
