Audio Engineer

As an Audio Engineer at Sofar Sounds, you'll be responsible for bringing magic to the sound desk at local shows throughout your city. Sofar shows are intimate and music-focused, making sound quality crucial. You'll work with local crew teams to ensure Sofar shows sound incredible and artists' sets go smoothly. The role requires creativity, as shows take place in unique and unexpected venues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide live sound reinforcement for Sofar shows
• Collaborate with crew teams and artists for show preparation and execution
• Transport personal gear to and from venues
• Set up and break down audio equipment
• Maintain appropriate audio levels for venues and audience sizes

Requirements:

• Experience with DIY live audio setups, preferably at 50+ capacity shows
• Understanding of live sound reinforcement gear and audio production
• Passion for live sound and creative problem-solving
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with creatives
• Ability to troubleshoot effectively in high-pressure situations
• Physical capability to move up to 75 lbs., with or without accommodation

Note: Most shows occur on evenings and weekends, and Audio Engineers are expected to supply their own gear.
