Job Description

Sony Europe is seeking an Analogue Layout Engineer for their IC Design Centre to implement chip layout for CMOS image sensors (CIS). This role focuses on implementing analogue circuits including pixel array readout, amplifiers, analog/digital converters, and signal processing blocks for noise reduction. The position is based in their modern Lysaker office, located in a business district near Oslo, offering a blend of urban convenience and natural surroundings.

The role combines hands-on technical work with opportunities for innovation and methodology development. You'll be responsible for full custom chip layout implementation, physical verification, and supporting chip testing and qualification. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering or Physics, with experience in custom layout implementation and physical verification.

Responsibilities For Analogue Layout Engineer

  • Preparation of the layout floorplan
  • Full custom chip layout implementation and physical verification
  • Preparation of documentation (implementation descriptions, verification results, reports, etc.)
  • Support the chip top layout implementation, verification, and tape-out
  • Support the debugging of issues identified from chip testing and qualification
  • QA review of the layout implementation and verification
  • Support the test and debug of fabricated parts

Requirements For Analogue Layout Engineer

  • PhD/MSc/BSc Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • Academic Background: Technical, Electronics, Semiconductor, Physics
  • Experience with full custom layout implementation and physical verification (DRC/LVS)
  • English speaking and preferred additional languages such as Norwegian and Japanese
  • Experience in working with diverse and cross functional, and remote teams
