Responsibilities For Senior Environmental Engineer

  • Develop, implement and improve environmental programs at SpaceX's Cape Canaveral location
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations established by EPA, FDEP, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT
  • Track, review, and interpret new and proposed environmental laws and regulations
  • Perform environmental audits to ensure compliance
  • Operate and maintain hazardous materials management plan
  • Maintain site operational compliance plans
  • Manage hazardous waste reporting and materials compliance
  • Coordinate and manage contractors for permitting and environmental testing
  • Assist the Environmental Health and Safety team
  • Review new or modified equipment and manufacturing programs
  • Develop relationships with federal, state, and county regulators
  • Maintain working relationships with engineering teams

Requirements For Senior Environmental Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience in environmental and regulatory compliance programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with technical data interpretation
  • Ability to work in collaborative team environment
  • Must be able to pass Air Force background check
  • Must be U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirements)
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
