Description For Sr. Antenna Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX, a pioneering space technology company, is seeking a Senior Antenna Engineer to join their Starlink team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on the world's largest satellite constellation, currently serving over 4M+ users worldwide with fast, reliable internet. As a Starlink Antenna Engineer, you'll have full ownership of all phased array, Wi-Fi, and RF systems for customer-facing hardware, serving diverse users from teachers in remote Amazon regions to researchers in Antarctica.

The position involves designing, implementing, and verifying small router antennas, phased arrays, and reflector antenna systems. You'll work directly with senior leadership to influence the constellation's fundamental operation while collaborating across electrical, silicon, software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams. This role requires expertise in antenna design, RF systems, and programming, particularly in Python for automation.

Responsibilities For Sr. Antenna Engineer (Starlink)

  • Design, fabricate and characterize prototypes of antennas, feed systems and RF front ends
  • Create electromagnetic simulation models of hardware
  • Work with EE, ME, DSP and software engineers to design and validate RF systems
  • Create and test phased array alignment solutions
  • Develop design validation and production test solutions
  • Write automation software in Python

Requirements For Sr. Antenna Engineer (Starlink)

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience with antennas or communication systems
  • 5+ years professional experience with radio test equipment
  • 5+ years of professional programming experience in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (ITAR requirement)
