Responsibilities For Structural Engineer (Critical Infrastructure)
- Perform civil and structural design and analysis calculations for structural steel and concrete, and supplementary grading and drainage designs
- Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines
- Lead project teams, consulting engineers, and contractors throughout the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
- Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial projects
- Estimate material quantities, schedules, and costs for construction projects
- Support and manage the permitting process with AHJs and regulatory agencies
- Provide direct onsite engineering inspections and field observations
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
- Provide technical engineering support to ensure construction/maintenance complies with standards, codes, and specifications
- Manage and support the civil and structural aspects of facilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members on HVAC, high power, cranes, and other facility systems
- Support corrosion control evaluations and repairs
Requirements For Structural Engineer (Critical Infrastructure)
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, mechanical engineering, or construction engineering
- 2+ years of professional experience in civil or structural engineering design, analysis, and drafting
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to remain focused while working in hazardous environments, while wearing appropriate PPE
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Must be able to travel to other SpaceX sites as needed (up to 25%)
- Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee due to ITAR requirements
