Job Description

State Street, a leading global custodian bank and asset manager, is seeking a Vice President level Data Platform Engineer to join their technology team. This role sits at the intersection of big data, cloud infrastructure, and financial services, offering an opportunity to work on enterprise-scale data solutions.

The position requires a seasoned professional with 12+ years of experience who will lead the design and implementation of cloud-based data lake solutions. You'll be responsible for end-to-end data platform development, from ingestion to modeling and distribution, while managing a global team of engineers. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic partnership building across the organization.

Key technical areas include cloud platforms (preferably Databricks), big data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive), and programming languages such as Java, Python, and Scala. Strong expertise in data modeling, database optimization, and cloud security (AWS/Azure) is essential. The role also demands proficiency in modern software development practices including CICD and DevOps.

State Street offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive medical care, insurance plans, and savings programs. The company strongly values diversity and inclusion, providing flexible work arrangements, paid volunteer days, and extensive professional development opportunities. As part of the Global Technology Services team, you'll be central to State Street's digital transformation initiatives, working with cutting-edge technologies including cloud, AI, and robotics process automation.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a senior technologist who wants to impact the financial services industry while working with enterprise-scale data systems.
