Job Description

Sun Life, a global leader in financial services and insurance, is seeking a Business Operations Software Engineer Co-op for Spring 2026. This role is part of the DentaQuest Claims Technology team, where you'll design and implement innovative automation solutions to streamline administrative tasks and enhance operational efficiency.

As a co-op, you'll work in a hybrid environment from one of Sun Life's U.S. offices in Wellesley, MA, Kansas City, MO, Hartford, CT, Portland, ME, or Milwaukee, WI. The position offers hands-on experience at the intersection of technology and business operations, with a focus on creating immediate impact through automation solutions.

The role involves collaborating with both business operations and IT colleagues, giving you valuable exposure to how technology drives business value. You'll be responsible for identifying automation opportunities, developing requirements, implementing solutions using C# programming, and ensuring quality outcomes. The position pays approximately $22 per hour.

  • Meet with operations colleagues to identify and design automations
  • Develop business requirements for proposed automations
  • Implement prioritized automations using object-oriented programming
  • Test and deploy automations
  • Monitor and manage execution of automations
  • Draft and send communications about new automations

Requirements For Business Operations Software Engineer - Spring 2026 Co-op

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during January 2026 – June 2026
  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in a related field
  • Experience with object-oriented design and programming (Microsoft C# preferred)
  • Experience with IDE development tools (Microsoft Visual Studio or Code preferred)
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to set up and manage effective meetings
  • Working knowledge of MS office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States
