Job Description
Taktile, a leading AI-powered decision engine platform backed by Y Combinator, Index Ventures, and Tiger Global, is seeking a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to join their global team. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on implementing and optimizing Taktile's platform for clients in the fintech and banking sectors.
The position requires a unique blend of technical prowess in Python, SQL, and REST APIs, along with strong customer relationship management skills. You'll be responsible for leading onboarding projects, designing solution architectures, and developing AI-driven decision logic while working directly with both technical and business stakeholders.
As a Lead FDE, you'll play a crucial role in scaling the forward deployed engineering function by creating best practices and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of relevant experience, though the role is also open to exceptional fresh graduates with strong technical backgrounds in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.

Responsibilities For Lead Forward Deployed Engineer
- Lead and manage onboarding projects from start to finish
- Design solution architectures addressing customer needs
- Develop decision logic and AI agents for complex business challenges
- Partner with product management team to transform customer insights into product improvements
- Create reusable resources, best practices, and tools
- Coach and mentor junior Forward Deployed Engineers
Requirements For Lead Forward Deployed Engineer
- Strong technical background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
- Strong understanding of REST APIs
- Excellent knowledge of Python and SQL
- Ability to build strong customer relationships with technical and business stakeholders
- Excellence in project planning and management
- Strong written and spoken English
- Experience in building AI applications (preferred)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred
- Spanish and/or Portuguese fluency preferred
