Job Description
Tandem is building the world's largest network of doctors, patients, and first-party data, applying AI to every step of bringing new therapies to market. Their first product ensures people get life-changing therapeutics quickly and cheaply, abstracting the complexity of insurance, affordability, and the pharmacy supply chain. As a Data Scientist, you will define and predict Tandem’s core metrics and drive strategic projects, working cross-functionally with engineers and leading operations workstreams. You'll engage directly with Fortune 100 customers, understanding their needs and presenting insights. Responsibilities include sourcing industry and market data, leveraging workflow data to predict operational throughput, prototyping new modeling approaches to AI problems, and building a unified user interaction model. You will create and iterate on data products for key partners and establish core data sources to empower the team. This demanding role offers high autonomy and responsibility, requiring an owner mentality to drive company growth and career progression. The compensation ranges from $150K to $250K, with competitive equity and visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Drive strategic projects that require deep data analysis, with accountability for end-to-end execution and business outcomes
- Sourcing and using industry and market data to shape Tandem’s go-to-market and growth strategy
- Leverage internal workflow data to predict operational throughput and bottlenecks and prioritize new workflow automations as we scale
- Prototype new modeling approaches to AI problems (e.g., outcome prediction and optimization for insurance-related processes) in collaboration with our Engineering team
- Build out a unified user interaction model to define Tandem’s consumer and provider product roadmaps
- Create and rapidly iterate on externally facing data products for Tandem’s key partners and actively participate in priority client engagements
- Establish Tandem’s core data sources and metrics to empower everyone on the team to answer complex questions about Tandem’s business in real-time
- Work directly with our CEO and leadership team as a critical partner in making business decisions as we balance speed of growth and long-term profitability
Requirements
- 3 - 8 years of experience as a data scientist at a tech company AND generalist (led Growth, done Product or Strategy/Ops, came from consulting firm like BCG/Bain as data scientist) OR typical data scientist/analytics at tech company/consulting firm
