Tek Spikes is seeking a Senior Android Developer for a full-time, on-site position in McLean, VA. This role requires 8+ years of experience and specifically demands prior Capital One experience. The position focuses on developing advanced Android applications using Kotlin and modern frameworks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining high-quality mobile applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring optimal performance across Android devices. The role involves working with modern Android architecture, Kotlin, and following best development practices. The position requires expertise in Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, architectural patterns, and various testing frameworks. This is a W2-only position (no C2C or 1099) and requires on-site presence. The role offers an opportunity to work on financial services applications and contribute to mobile development best practices while mentoring junior developers. The successful candidate will be part of an Agile team and will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of code quality and architecture.

Responsibilities For Senior Android Developer

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to build seamless, high-performance mobile experiences
  • Maintain high standards of code quality, architecture, and documentation
  • Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness across a wide range of Android devices
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews
  • Contribute to mobile development best practices and mentor junior developers as needed

Requirements For Senior Android Developer

Kotlin
Java
  • Minimum 8 years of professional Android development experience
  • Deep expertise in Kotlin and strong knowledge of Java
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Android architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.)
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and SDKs
  • Proficiency in tools such as Git, Gradle, Android Studio, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bitrise)
  • Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, Espresso, and Mockito
  • Must have prior experience working at Capital One
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to work on W2 only (no C2C or 1099)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
