Description For Engineering Program Manager, Megapack

Tesla's Energy Engineering group is seeking a dynamic Engineering Program Manager for their Megapack program. This role combines technical leadership with cross-functional coordination, requiring interaction with design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, compliance, and field operations teams. Based in the Bay Area with some travel to California or Nevada facilities, you'll shepherd projects from concept through prototype validation to production ramp.

The position demands a unique blend of engineering expertise and program management skills, focusing on both new design engineering initiatives and existing program management for Tesla's Megapack technology. You'll be responsible for accelerating development processes, managing technical risks, and ensuring smooth manufacturing operations.

As an autonomous leader, you'll contribute to organizational productivity while managing critical aspects of the Megapack program.   • Create and maintain schedules for design and manufacturing engineering projects
  • Prioritize engineering team's work based on risk, resources and payback
  • Identify creative solutions to overcome obstacles
  • Define processes for risk and change management

Requirements For Engineering Program Manager, Megapack

  • Experience in managing engineering projects for mass produced products
  • Understanding of engineering product design cycle and release cycle
  • Experience creating and maintaining schedules
  • Understanding of multilevel Bill of Material hierarchy
  • Ability to inspire confidence across management levels
  • Cross-functional work experience
  • Degree in engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing preferred)
