Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Drive Unit

  • Conduct visual and functional inspections of drive units and associated parts
  • Install drive units on Dynamometers, test, and analyze engineering prototypes
  • Collaborate with test engineers to develop and execute test plans
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
  • Provide documentation of test results and inspection findings
  • Maintain lab organization and safety standards
  • Design, fabricate, and modify test fixtures and equipment
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Support lab expansion and testing activities at Tesla facilities

Requirements For Engineering Technician, Drive Unit

Python
  • Extensive practical experience in a similar role
  • High Voltage training or knowledge of high voltage DC systems
  • Proficient in mechanical fabrication and machine shop operations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Familiarity with electronics lab tools
  • Experience with wiring harness design and fabrication
  • Strong understanding of physics and engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent documentation and written communication skills
  • Experience with LabVIEW or Python is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
