Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Drive Unit
- Conduct visual and functional inspections of drive units and associated parts
- Install drive units on Dynamometers, test, and analyze engineering prototypes
- Collaborate with test engineers to develop and execute test plans
- Communicate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues
- Provide documentation of test results and inspection findings
- Maintain lab organization and safety standards
- Design, fabricate, and modify test fixtures and equipment
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Support lab expansion and testing activities at Tesla facilities
Requirements For Engineering Technician, Drive Unit
- Extensive practical experience in a similar role
- High Voltage training or knowledge of high voltage DC systems
- Proficient in mechanical fabrication and machine shop operations
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with electronics lab tools
- Experience with wiring harness design and fabrication
- Strong understanding of physics and engineering fundamentals
- Excellent documentation and written communication skills
- Experience with LabVIEW or Python is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
