Description For Engineering Technician, Testing, Tesla Bot

Tesla is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Optimus Test Team, working on the cutting-edge Tesla Bot project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of Tesla's robotics innovation, working in a fast-paced environment alongside seasoned industry experts and talented professionals.

The position involves hands-on work with test fixtures, conducting material, performance, and reliability testing for the Tesla Bot. You'll be responsible for component, sub-system, and system level testing, working closely with reliability and test engineers. The role requires strong mechanical or electrical hands-on skills and the ability to work independently.

As part of Tesla's AI & Robotics division, you'll contribute to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in robotics technology. The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $24.40 to $56.40 per hour, plus additional cash and stock awards. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or material testing, with strong technical skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities For Engineering Technician, Testing, Tesla Bot

  • Build test fixtures and conduct component and system level tests
  • Compile, organize, and archive test results
  • Document and report issues identified during tests or inspections
  • Prepare and maintain test parts, devices and equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers to analysis issues discovered
  • Provide written and verbal test status updates to key stakeholders through Jira
  • Support engineering teams in instrumentation and data acquisition
  • Comply with safety policies and regulations

Requirements For Engineering Technician, Testing, Tesla Bot

  • 2+ years of experience with mechanical, electrical, or material testing
  • Ability to operate safely a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and lab equipment
  • Hands-on experience with test setup and execution
  • Experience and knowledge of collecting data and reporting data in MS Excel
  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with environmental stress testing or automated test systems
  • Positive attitude, eager to learn and ability to change direction quickly
  • High awareness of safety procedures and practices
