Description For Equipment Engineer, Cell Electrode

Tesla is seeking a dedicated Equipment Engineer to enhance and maintain manufacturing equipment for battery cell pilot production. This role is crucial for Tesla's battery manufacturing operations, working at the intersection of process engineering and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities For Equipment Engineer, Cell Electrode

  • Own and account for manufacturing equipment for the Cathode mixing and conveyance cell manufacturing processes
  • Lead equipment support to realize new/innovative/improved manufacturing processes to full scale production
  • Drive improvement of equipment effectiveness, stability, and reliability
  • Work on PFMEA and equipment readiness with the manufacturing engineering team
  • Drive equipment detailed documentation for production team
  • Create detailed manufacturing instructions to document new processes

Requirements For Equipment Engineer, Cell Electrode

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on industry experience in equipment engineering and/or manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with battery cell manufacturing, roll to roll manufacturing equipment, automated mechanical assembly, or industrial chemical process equipment
  • Experience of new equipment installations and new product startups
  • Experience writing production documentation: SOPs, checklists, flow diagrams
  • Mechanical design experience and best practices with SolidWorks is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for learning systems quickly
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills
