As a Mechanical Design Engineer in Dimensional Analysis, you'll work with cutting-edge technology in automotive engineering, focusing on everything from battery cells to large castings and assemblies. The role offers extensive exposure to various vehicle systems and design cycles, working closely with cross-functional teams. You'll utilize specialized dimensional variation analysis software and apply your expertise in GD&T while collaborating with global teams. Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, Dimensional Analysis
- Perform dimensional CAE simulation using dedicated dimensional variation analysis software
- Analyze and communicate dimensional requirements within engineering teams
- Work with global manufacturing and supplier base
- Participate in mechanical design of vehicle systems
- Work on parallel design programs across different stages of design cycle
- Cross-functional interaction with Styling, Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality teams
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) expertise
Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, Dimensional Analysis
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years' experience in Computer Aided Engineering, dimensional engineering, metrology, or CAE role
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals
- Catia or similar CAD system experience
- Comfortable with multi-variable capability analysis and statistical testing
- Proficiency in 1D and 3D dimensional variation root cause analysis preferred
- Familiarity GD&T and ASME Y14.5 preferred
