Description For Mechanical Test Engineer, High Voltage Battery, Semi

Tesla is seeking entry and early-career Test Engineers to join their Hardware Testing team, specifically focusing on High Voltage Battery systems for their Semi program.   • Perform component and pack-level validation and reliability testing
  • Design, build, instrument, and automate equipment for battery system testing
  • Investigate test and field failures
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify failure modes and generate test plans
  • Identify and execute experiments targeting new technologies
  • Analyze and document test results
  • Collaborate with Test Technicians

Requirements For Mechanical Test Engineer, High Voltage Battery, Semi

Python
  • Basic understanding of statics, mechanics of materials, fluids, heat transfer
  • Experience with object-oriented coding language and scripting (Python, MATLAB)
  • Experience with 3D modelling and drafting drawings
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment
  • Physical testing and analysis experience
  • Experience designing mechanical structures
  • Experience with Python scripting for hardware control
