Tesla Manufacturing Pilot Team is seeking an independent engineering technician for full bot testing and diagnosis. This role will be responsible for diagnosing full bot system-level issues, rapidly identifying root cause, and resolving issues, recording, and reporting to the manufacturing team. A strong technical aptitude, fast trouble-shooting capabilities, and good communication skills are needed to succeed in this role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full bot system level bring up including testing, rapid issue identification, diagnosis, and root-cause analysis
- Running firmware routines for testing and analyzing CAN data/trace
- Electronics and wire harness debugging
- Recording system level issues and providing feedback to engineers
- Working with engineering team to improve designs and processes
- Performing assembly, testing, repairing, and sustaining on Tesla bot
- Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and performing repairs
- Executing build plans to meet aggressive timelines
Requirements:
- Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience with various sensor types and software development tools
- Proficiency in Linux, product-level issue diagnosis, and root-cause analysis
- Hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting complex electrical hardware systems
- Familiarity with CANAPE, PCAN, and CAN/EtherCat protocols
- Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
