Mechatronics Engineering Technician, Tesla Bot, Testing & Diagnosis

Tesla Manufacturing Pilot Team is seeking an independent engineering technician for full bot testing and diagnosis. This role will be responsible for diagnosing full bot system-level issues, rapidly identifying root cause, and resolving issues, recording, and reporting to the manufacturing team. A strong technical aptitude, fast trouble-shooting capabilities, and good communication skills are needed to succeed in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full bot system level bring up including testing, rapid issue identification, diagnosis, and root-cause analysis
• Running firmware routines for testing and analyzing CAN data/trace
• Electronics and wire harness debugging
• Recording system level issues and providing feedback to engineers
• Working with engineering team to improve designs and processes
• Performing assembly, testing, repairing, and sustaining on Tesla bot
• Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and performing repairs
• Executing build plans to meet aggressive timelines

Requirements:

• Robotics, Mechatronics, or equivalent industry experience
• Experience with various sensor types and software development tools
• Proficiency in Linux, product-level issue diagnosis, and root-cause analysis
• Hands-on experience in testing and troubleshooting complex electrical hardware systems
• Familiarity with CANAPE, PCAN, and CAN/EtherCat protocols
• Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering drawings
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
