As a Powertrain Controls Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing sophisticated algorithms that ensure seamless torque delivery across Tesla's vehicle lineup. You'll work on industry-leading features like Plaid acceleration mode, Self-Driving capabilities, and One-Pedal Driving, making a direct impact on Tesla's renowned driving experience.

Responsibilities For Powertrain Controls Engineer, Vehicle Controls
- Develop control-oriented models of the powertrain, and implement control strategies
- Work with Firmware and Integration engineers to implement, test, and debug algorithms
- Calibrate powertrain performance attributes
- Improve tools and processes for algorithm calibration
- Work with cross-functional teams to define control system capability
- Advance the state-of-the-art in Powertrain Control systems
Requirements For Powertrain Controls Engineer, Vehicle Controls
- Excellent background in linear systems analysis and control systems
- Proficiency with controls-oriented dynamic system models
- Understanding of electric propulsion, motion control systems, and batteries
- Ability to design, analyze, and implement control systems
- Cross-functional collaboration skills
- Basic proficiency with embedded firmware development in C/C++
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
