Tesla is at the forefront of electric vehicle innovation, seeking a Powertrain Controls Engineer to join their dynamic team in Palo Alto. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge vehicle control systems that define the Tesla driving experience.

As a Powertrain Controls Engineer, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing sophisticated algorithms that ensure seamless torque delivery across Tesla's vehicle lineup. You'll work on industry-leading features like Plaid acceleration mode, Self-Driving capabilities, and One-Pedal Driving, making a direct impact on Tesla's renowned driving experience.

The position requires a strong background in control systems and electro-mechanical systems, combined with practical implementation skills. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Firmware, Integration, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers, to develop and refine control strategies that optimize vehicle performance.

Key responsibilities include developing control-oriented models, implementing and calibrating algorithms, and improving tools and processes for future powertrains. You'll work on everything from pedal response and drive-ability to torque split optimization, all while maintaining Tesla's high standards for performance and innovation.
