Responsibilities For Sr. Test Engineer, Thermal Event, Semi
- Create detailed test plans based on communication with design teams and program managers
- Own test planning activities as per program schedule
- Coordinate with technicians in battery pack build, instrumentation, test teams
- Conduct tests safely and in a manner faithful to the design intent/failure mode
- Analyze thermal and electrical data, video footage and present test results
- Identify and execute ideas to increase efficiency and quality of battery thermal testing
- Develop coupon studies to allow rapid testing of specific subsystems
- Collaborate with modeling team to align on results
- Interpret regulations and tailor tests setup and results accordingly
Requirements For Sr. Test Engineer, Thermal Event, Semi
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Focus areas include heat transfer, combustion, or materials
- 2-10 years of experience in design validation/compliance/battery testing
- Must be hands-on (physical assembly, electrical wiring / troubleshooting)
- Experience with data analysis tools- Matlab or Python preferred
- Experience with CAD (CATIA a bonus)
- Willing to travel (up to 20%) to test sites
