Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking a DevSecOps Lead Software Engineer to join their Space Mission Systems Software Engineering organization in El Segundo, CA. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology, specifically supporting a new fleet of Boeing satellites.

The position combines leadership in DevSecOps practices with hands-on technical work, focusing on building and maintaining robust software development pipelines for satellite systems. You'll be responsible for leading multiple aspects of the software development infrastructure, including embedded/real-time satellite flight software, simulation software, databases, cybersecurity software, and satellite ground command/control/networking software.

As a DevSecOps Lead, you'll be at the forefront of implementing modern software engineering practices in the aerospace industry. The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise in DevSecOps, leadership capabilities, and understanding of security requirements specific to the defense and space sector. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies while ensuring compliance with strict security protocols and government requirements.

Responsibilities For DevSecOps Lead Software Engineer

  • Lead development of pipeline infrastructure for multiple software engineering teams
  • Lead DevSecOps activities for satellite system software teams
  • Deploy multiple environments (dev, test, prod)
  • Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines
  • Integrate automated testing and metrics generation
  • Integrate vulnerability & quality scanning capabilities
  • Lead documentation and maintenance of DevSecOps processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Perform technical support and assist with security requirements
  • Manage software dependencies
  • Support system hardening against cybersecurity threats
  • Lead DevSecOps training for team members

Requirements For DevSecOps Lead Software Engineer

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret US Security Clearance (requires US Citizenship)
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Development lifecycle
  • 5+ years of experience leading software teams and/or projects
  • 5+ years of experience with DevOps/DevSecOps
  • 5+ years of experience with test automation
  • Experience with CI/CD using code versioning, build and test automation tools
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15
  • Must work 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA
