Token Metrics, a leading crypto analytics platform, is seeking a Senior Crypto Backend Engineer to join their remote engineering team. This role is perfect for an experienced backend developer who wants to work at the intersection of cryptocurrency and data engineering. The position involves building and maintaining sophisticated data infrastructure that powers AI-based crypto indices and analytics.
As a Senior Crypto Backend Engineer, you'll be responsible for constructing frameworks using various technologies including SQL, Python, R, Java, and C++. You'll work closely with Data Scientists and the Engineering team to create and maintain data pipelines, implement data validation methodologies, and optimize existing frameworks. The role requires expertise in both traditional databases and modern big data technologies, with a focus on building scalable solutions for crypto analytics.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of experience in backend development and data engineering, with strong expertise in multiple programming languages and database technologies. You'll need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, managing complex data pipelines with minimal supervision. Responsibilities For Senior Crypto Backend Engineer
- Liaising with coworkers and clients to elucidate the requirements for each task
- Conceptualizing and generating infrastructure that allows big data to be accessed and analyzed
- Reformulating existing frameworks to optimize their functioning
- Testing structures to ensure they are fit for use
- Building a data pipeline from different data sources using different data types like API, CSV, JSON
- Preparing raw data for manipulation by Data Scientists
- Implementing proper data validation and data reconciliation methodologies
- Ensuring work remains backed up and readily accessible to relevant coworkers
- Remaining up-to-date with industry standards and technological advancements
Requirements For Senior Crypto Backend Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Big Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
- 3+ years of Python, Java or any programming language development experience
- 3+ years of SQL & No-SQL experience
- 3+ years of experience with schema design and dimensional data modeling
- Expert proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, Python, C++, Java, R
- Expert with building Data Lake, Data Warehouse or suitable equivalent
- Expert in AWS Cloud
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- A knack for independence and group work
- Capacity to successfully manage a pipeline of duties with minimal supervision
