The role requires a seasoned professional with 5+ years of experience and deep expertise in both frontend (React) and backend (Java) development. You'll be responsible for building scalable, high-performance applications and making crucial architectural decisions that shape the platform's future. The position involves designing and maintaining full-stack web applications, developing RESTful APIs, and leading the development of React-based UIs with a focus on component architecture and performance optimization.
Working in a collaborative environment, you'll interact closely with product and design teams while taking ownership of complex engineering challenges from concept through production. The role offers opportunities to mentor junior engineers and drive engineering best practices across the team. Technical requirements include strong proficiency in React and Java, experience with relational databases, and familiarity with cloud infrastructure and modern system design patterns.
The position offers a competitive compensation package with a base salary range of $160,000-$190,000, plus bonus potential and comprehensive benefits. While preferably based in Santa Monica, CA, remote work arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Responsibilities For Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack)
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack web applications
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and data models
- Lead development of React-based UIs, with thoughtful component architecture and performance optimizations
- Architect scalable systems and contribute to high-level design and planning
- Drive code quality, testing, and engineering best practices across the team
- Collaborate across functions to deliver end-to-end product features
- Mentor junior engineers and support peer learning
Requirements For Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack)
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building complex, scalable applications
- Strong proficiency in both React and Java, including state management and component architecture
- Solid understanding of database design, with experience in relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience in designing and developing APIs
- Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices, and modern system design patterns
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to write clean, well-tested, maintainable code across the stack
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
