Job Description

Vanderlande, a global leader in logistics automation, is seeking a Controls Mobile Engineer to join their North American Service Center (NASC) team. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with significant field work, requiring up to 70% travel across North America. The position focuses on maintaining and optimizing automated material handling systems, particularly working with Allen-Bradley PLC systems.

The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of controls technology experience and a bachelor's degree in engineering. This role offers a unique blend of remote and on-site work, dealing with cutting-edge automated systems in airports, parcel facilities, and warehouses. You'll be responsible for incident resolution, system optimization, and providing technical support for major clients like UPS, FedEx, and Walmart.

What makes this role particularly interesting is its combination of technical depth and business impact. You'll work with sophisticated control systems, including various industrial networks (Profibus, ASI bus, Profinet), while directly contributing to the efficiency of critical logistics infrastructure. The position offers opportunities for international training and professional growth within a company that emphasizes continuous learning.

The role requires someone who can work independently while being an effective team player. You'll need strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The significant travel component (up to 70%) makes this ideal for someone who enjoys dynamic work environments and hands-on problem-solving in different locations.

Vanderlande offers a supportive environment focused on personal growth and achievement, with their Academy providing ongoing learning opportunities. The company's global presence in over 100 countries means exposure to diverse projects and potential career advancement paths. If you're passionate about industrial automation and want to work with state-of-the-art logistics systems while developing your career in an international environment, this position offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of automated material handling.
