Sr. Data Engineer

Varo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the development of their data platform. As part of the Data Engineering team, you'll collaborate closely with product, data science, and machine learning teams to design, build, and scale high-leverage datasets that enable analytics and experimentation.

In this role, you'll:

• Design, build, and maintain Varo's data pipelines
• Work with AWS big data technologies
• Develop and maintain the data strategy for Varo
• Provide technical leadership in data systems development
• Work with business partners on requirements and results
• Participate in developing data security & access control policies
• Develop controls for resilient data ingestion
• Support application data integration design and build efforts
• Conduct code reviews

Required skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field
• 6-8 years of data modeling, pipelines, lake, and warehouse experience
• 6+ years programming experience in Python
• 6+ years' experience with AWS Big Data/Hadoop Ecosystem
• Experience with other AWS components is a strong plus
