Description For Platform Engineer

Vortexa is revolutionizing the energy industry by leveraging satellite data and AI to provide unprecedented transparency in global seaborne energy flows. As a Platform Engineer, you'll join the Data Services Team, responsible for managing their impressive AWS infrastructure and developer platform. The role presents unique challenges in handling massive data processing, real-time AI models, and maintaining a fault-tolerant infrastructure.

You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Kubevela, Golang, Kafka, Opensearch, Airflow, and Athena. The position requires expertise in creating and maintaining robust infrastructure while optimizing for developer experience. You'll be instrumental in standardizing technology stacks, implementing infrastructure roadmaps, and ensuring 100% uptime of platform components while managing AWS costs.

The role offers an opportunity to work in a globally distributed team, where you'll directly impact the efficiency of data analysts, data scientists, and fellow engineers. You'll be responsible for codifying and automating operational knowledge, allowing R&D to focus on customer value creation. The position combines technical expertise with strategic thinking, as you'll need to assess current technologies and deliver solutions that enable rapid development iterations.
