Description For Software Engineer Team Lead

Welocalize, a global transformation partner specializing in multilingual content services, is seeking a Software Engineer Team Lead to join their team in Noida, India. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, requiring someone who can both manage a team and architect complex systems.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience leading development teams and a strong technical background in software engineering. You'll be responsible for managing a team of software engineers, making critical technical decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products.

Key responsibilities include managing software engineers, setting technical direction, maintaining product roadmaps, and developing complex systems. You'll also be involved in making build vs. buy decisions and creating SDKs and frameworks to improve development efficiency.

The role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, including knowledge of design patterns, asynchronous programming, and system architecture. You'll need strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams and collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Directly manage software engineers assigned to the product team
  • Assist direct reports in setting and prioritizing goals
  • Contribute to setting direction according to the product management process
  • Maintain roadmap and budget for the product team
  • Ensure company policies for SDLC lifecycle management are followed

Requirements For Software Engineer Team Lead

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading large design efforts and managing project teams of 4 or more members
  • Previous professional experience collaborating with business stakeholders
  • Experience shipping code in an agile SDLC
  • Experience in performance analysis and benchmarking
  • Knowledge of multiple frameworks, paradigms, languages, and trends
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of design patterns
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming, queuing, caching, logging, security, and persistence
  • Practical knowledge of algorithms, big O complexity, and the CAP theorem
