Job Description

At YouTube, we're seeking a Senior UX Engineer to join our Extended Reality team, working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and creative expression. This role combines front-end development expertise with specialized knowledge in extended reality (XR) technologies. You'll be responsible for building innovative prototypes and solutions that shape the future of YouTube's XR experiences.

The position requires a unique blend of technical skills in 3D graphics, mobile development, and XR platforms, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with UX designers and product managers. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment where you'll lead user-centered product development, create proof-of-concepts, and implement innovative UI patterns.

As part of Google's UX team, you'll join a multi-disciplinary group of professionals who deeply care about user experience. The role offers competitive compensation ($151,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity) and the opportunity to work at Google's offices in either San Bruno or Mountain View, CA.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in front-end development or technical UX design, strong software engineering background with Unity and 3D graphics, and preferably experience with AR/VR development. You'll be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and engineering, while helping shape the future of YouTube's extended reality experiences.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about both user experience and cutting-edge technology, offering the chance to work on products that will potentially reach billions of users worldwide. The role combines technical challenges with creative problem-solving, making it perfect for engineers who want to push the boundaries of what's possible in XR.
