Zettascale is building the next NVIDIA, developing novel polymorphic chips that are a generation ahead of current technology. Their XPU chips are state-of-the-art AI compute engines capable of reconfiguring themselves to optimize dataflow for each model, supporting both training and inference workloads.
The company's innovative polymorphic architecture achieves unprecedented performance gains over current SOTA GPUs while dramatically reducing energy consumption. This technology is positioned to power future knowledge and scientific discovery, particularly in AGI and ASI applications, without requiring massive power infrastructure.
As a Founding Engineer, you'll work directly with an exceptional team of engineers obsessed with pushing computing boundaries. The role requires expertise in low-level programming, Linux kernel development, firmware, and kernel writing. Key technical skills include C, C++, Rust, and Python, with additional experience in (System)Verilog/VHDL and Nix being valuable.
The ideal candidate should be ready to go all-in, tackle near-impossible technical challenges, and have a deep passion for computing and AI. Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch/TinyGrad/JAX/Lux.jl) and open source contributions are significant plusses. This is an opportunity to shape revolutionary technology, make critical decisions affecting AI compute's future, and grow into a technical leadership role.
The position offers highly competitive compensation with significant equity, reflecting the role's importance in building technology that will impact computing for decades to come. Based at the San Francisco HQ, you'll be one of the first employees helping to build something truly revolutionary in the AI chip space.
