Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Autotuning

Zoox is seeking machine learning engineers to develop systems that evaluate and enhance autonomous driving behaviors through learning from expert human drivers. The role focuses on building core technologies to benchmark vehicles against expert human driving and tune driving software for more human-like behaviors, ensuring safe, comfortable, and natural driving experiences.

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the Autotuning team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing ML systems that learn from expert human driving data to model human-like behaviors. Your work will involve developing evaluation methods to measure human-likeness in autonomous driving and creating AutoML systems to optimize driving software.

The position requires expertise in working with large-scale datasets and distributed training pipelines to deliver production-ready ML solutions. You'll collaborate across teams, including planner, simulation, and infrastructure, to drive measurable improvements in vehicle behavior.
