100% the same exp for me.  Only highest level material was useful on the job; forgot all the leas useful stuff.

I was a little confused by the comment about many SWEs historically coming from data science. As I recall:

- Software engineering has been around since the 1960s–70s as a formal discipline.
- Data science, as a named field, didn’t really take off until the 2000s, and especially after 2012 when it was famously called “the sexiest job of the 21st century” by Harvard Business Review.
