Very abnormal indeed.

Asked what their salary package was for the role I was applying for. They said they didn't have a salary band at hand for the UK role at the moment and insisted that I tell them my current salary / expectations.

I told them that it is unrealistic to not have a salary band as these things are budgeted for. They said they would get back to me.

I got a "we decided to go with other candidates" email afterwards.
