Office politics are the worst. Management sucks

Pros

Just the brand itself, nothing more, nothing less.

Cons
  • Too much office politics. You need to always agree with management or even the client to be acknowledged.
  • No transparency.
  • Their slogan "Truly Human" should be "Truly Robot".
  • Management doesn't listen to people below, even if the solutions or risks are laid out clearly.
  • Management always pushes people beyond their limits, most of the time extending to the office (14-18 hours) and even 6 days a week.
  • Management always micro-manages.
  • People below the management level have no voice.
  • Too many unnecessary meetings/processes.
  • Management is all backstabbing people and doesn't really care about the people below. They even tag you in a Performance Improvement Plan even if you have great ideas/solutions because it's just against their will.
  • Adds managers that are not technically equipped and always escalate. They are not of help during crisis management, as the people below (lead level and below) are the ones fixing or handling the situation.
  • Even if the employee is sick, management still pushes them to work, either going to the office or working from home. Most of the time, they don't believe the employee even if they are really sick due to stress.
  • Escalations are always the norm.
  • No work-life balance.
  • HR is afraid of the management and they just side with them.
  • Low pay.
Advice to Management

Talk and listen more to your people below.

Build not just leaders but also technical SMEs as well. What will happen if all your people will just be leaders and not technically equipped?

HR should be more objective and not just be biased with leaders/management, because not all the time these so-called leaders/management are correct or handling the groups in a good way.

Where was the transparency that was before? I was a returnee and was away for 3 years before I returned here, and it is already chaos all around.

Most of all, kick all those non-performing managers who just escalate, micromanage, and don't care about people.
